Sabadell Venture Capital, which belongs to the BS Capital division, is the venture capital investment arm of Banco Sabadell, which invests in start-ups in their initial stages accompanying them in their growth.

2011

Banco Sabadell began its activity in Venture Capital in 2011 with the creation of the Fons del Enginyers [engineers fund] through the Societat d'Inversió dels Enginyers [engineers' investment company], a fund managed by the Col·legi d’Enginyers Industrials [society of industrial engineers] and BS Capital, the main investors were the Institut Català de Finances and Banco Sabadell.

2013

In 2013, BStartup 10 was created jointly with the Commercial Banking division. It invests € 1M per year in technological and digital businesses in the pre-seed and seed phases.

2015

In 2015, the management of BS Capital created Sabadell Venture Capital with the goal of investing in companies in their initial phases (seed and series A) in Spain, in the technology and digital fields.

2016

In 2016, the management of BS Capital decided to expand its areas of investment in venture capital by entering the life sciences sector and taking a stake in Ysios Biofund II - Invierte and with a direct co-investment agreement.

2017

In 2017 the bank increased its focus on venture capital by increasing the amount of resources allotted to this field and launching Venture Debt. Banco Sabadell was the first bank in Spain to offer this product.

2018

In 2018, Sabadell Venture Capital with promoters Josep Lluís Sanfeliu and Clara Campas set up Sabadell Asabys, a specific venture capital vehicle for investments in the health sector. http://asabys.com/

Se crea BStartup Health junto con la Dirección de Banca Comercial. Este programa va dirigido a inversión en proyectos de salud en fase muy iniciales (pre-seed y seed) donde la inversión se destina fundamentalmente a validar la tecnología y el mercado.

2019

The commitment of BS Capital Direction in the Life Sciences sector is maintained through the participation in the Ysios Biofund II.

2020

The European Investment Fund (EIF) trusts Sabadell Venture Capital endowing it with the InnovFin guarantee, with the financial backing of the European Union within the framework of Horizon 2020 financial instruments for its Venture Debt operations.
